S.J. Face: Isis Petrie
Courier-Post

Wedding planner Isis Petrie, of Cherry Hill, couldn't imagine herself doing anything else she loves as much. When the 28-year-old who originally is from New York isn't concentrating on her Posh Events company, she's usually at a restaurant on Philadelphia, where Budakan is her favorite, or New York City.

When it comes to unwinding, her favorite pasttime is traveling. If she can't get away, another love is to pamper herself at a spa. You might get a glimpse of her motoring around in her new Honda Pilot, where usually there's old-school rhythm 'n' blues on the sound system.

Q: As a wedding planner, how do you keep the groomsmen in line before the reception?
A: Usually, the way I'll do it is to bribe them or something. I basically tell them they have the rest of the night to get as trashed as they want to.

Q: What's the biggest trend in weddings right now?
A: The biggest thing right now is color -- color in the cake, linens, the gown. A lot of couples are also choosing to have smaller cocktail or dessert receptions, rather than the whole sit down, cut-the-cake affair.

Q: Can you relate to the word "Bridezilla"?
A: Oh yes, I've had my fair share of them. Usually, even the calmest of brides will turn into a bridezilla two weeks before the wedding.

Q: What's the worst thing that has happened at one of your weddings?
A: One time, one of the guests went into cardiac shock.

Q: Have you ever had wedding crashers?
A: I think I have. There have been people who just walk into weddings. People are obsessed with them.

Q: What's the most important tool in your wedding emergency kit?
A: Probably sticky tape or Velcro tape. It comes in handy.

Q: Is there ever a point in the night when you can relax?
A: I might be able to get dinner, but there's no relaxing. At the end of the night, your feet hurt bad. -- Jason Nark SJ Faces shines the spotlight on interesting people to watch in South Jersey. To suggest a subject, e-mail cpfeat@courierpostonline.com or call (856) 486-2434.
